Following a hugely successful, critically acclaimed 2012 show, the hilarious Alfie Moore returns to The Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a brand new show ‘Viva Alf’s Vegas’ at The Pleasance Courtyard from 31^st July – 25^th August.

Alfie has served time as a steelworker, policeman and comedian. Alongside his professions, he has had one constant pastime, he’s a gambler. This frank and funny show recounts his roller-coaster journey through glorious, glamorous highs and desperate dark lows of a man held in the vice-like grip of craving the next bet and down to his last tin of beans.

Alfie’s attitude to risk emerged aged eight when he bet his teddy's eyes in a game of three card brag - and lost. His relationship with his dad, who shares his love of gambling, unfolds throughout the show including helping Big Alf realise his dream to see Elvis in Vegas.

After wives and houses won and lost, Alfie shares his very real concerns about the relaxation of gambling laws and the all-pervading adverts force-feeding the vulnerable on a diet of guaranteed easy money from online bingo and betting. As a compulsive gambler - with no intention to quit any time soon - Alfie takes a surprisingly strong stance on how the country is seemingly sleepwalking its way into what he believes is the new social cancer.

Alfie's eighteen year police career included a number of years as a Police Sergeant in Scunthorpe, where he was in charge of the neighbourhood policing on the Westcliff Estate which has recently been the subject of a Channel 4 documentary, ‘Skint’.

Alfie was one of the stars of ‘Show Me The Funny’ (ITV) and wrote and presented ‘Alfie Moore’s Almanac’ for BBC Radio. Most recently he has been featured on The Wright Stuff (Channel 5), Sky News, BBC Radio 4’s Idiots Guide to Crime and Punishment with Stephen K Amos and Bizarre Crime (BBC 3).

Alfie has previously taken three shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, culminating in his acclaimed 2012 show ‘I Predicted a Riot!’. He has toured his own show nationally and has also supported Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours.

Jonny Gould is an English sports radio presenter who broadcasts on Smooth Radio weekday mornings on the Simon Bates Breakfast Show.

Jonny is available for after dinner speaking, motivational events, sports dinners, commentary, radio and TV commentary and sports related work.

Smooth Radio first employed sports media specialist Jonny to anchor its extended breakfast sports bulletins during the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Group Programme Director John Simons said “Jonny’s a great talent and I’m delighted he will be joining Simon in the studio for breakfast”

After the Olympics, Smooth Radio then retained Jonny to be reunited with breakfast presenter Simon Bates to present the morning sports news, more than 15 years after they first broadcast together on Talksport.

In addition to the weekday shows on Smooth Radio, Jonny occasionally presents the weekend sports show Extra Time on Talksport

Since 2008 Jonny is a regular sports pundit on Sky News providing comment and analysis on Sky News Sports Line, a programme which previews the weekend’s sporting action. He also reported football matches for ITV’s Goal Rush and was Premiership Plus first ever touchline reporter, covering the channel’s first eleven games.

In 2010 Jonny Gould started to appear regularly on Al Jazeera English as a football expert to discuss a wide variety of football-related stories including theFIFA World Cup host country announcements for 2018 and 2022 and the many political controversies involving FIFA’s Sepp Blatter.

From 2000 to 2002, Jonny Gould presented ITV Sport’s Football First, a live four hour football scores and reports show, and Euro Fever, a live studio show with an audience and guests.

From 1997 to 2000, Jonny was the sports presenter on Channel 5 (UK)‘s evening news show 5 News with Katie Ledger.

Between 1992 and 1995 Jonny provide sports news for Independent Radio News as Sports Editor and went on to become Associate Sports Editor in 1994.

From 1990 to 1993, Jonny presented BBC World Service “Sports Roundup” and Sports World.

Jonny is CEO of Sportsmedia, which provides over 150 national and local radio stations and social media with daily sports content. The company was started in 1992 and client stations include Planet Rock, Gold Radio and Jazz FM.
